Subject: Hello Again

Sorry- it has been a while since I have written, things here on post have been busy.  An update for you and the other troopers out there :), 1-10 is moving north to another camp to continue the war on terror.  They did and accomplished many great things while stationed at Camp Charlie.  They built water treatment plants, purification plants, hospitals, housing units, and trained Iraqs to defend themselves.  We all can feel pride in the job 1-10 has done.  I will forward you on to my husband after they all are safe and repositioned at their new base camp.

Right now- we are trying to plan a welcome home party and a formal.  I will give you more details as we get them.  I will also pass along the new address, so any of you wanting to send goodies can do that.

Thank you for your support and I look forward to talking to you soon.  Leslie

Subject: Web site 10thcavchapter.org

Hello Mrs. Love, I am very thankful to Bob Babcock for putting me
in touch with you. I am grant S. Jackson. Served as the Scout section
 leader of the
 1st platoon B troop.
July 1969- July 1970. Last July at the 4th
IDA national  reunion I was elected president of the 1st squadron (Viet Nam )
chapter as we were chartered.) I feel that the chapter should represent all
buffalo Soldiers of all eras. so when my son Built the new web site , we
decided to call it the 10thcavchapter.org and it would represent all cavalry units
that has served or will serve with the 4th ID to include the 2/1 cavalry,
2/9cavalry, 4th recon and to except veterans of the 2nd,3rd squadrons and the
210th tank Bn as associate members. I will bring this subject up at our next
reunion for a vote. Many of our members are very anxious to assist the cavalry
units that are now with the 4th ID especially the 1st squadrons that is the
squadron that most of us served , However my entry into the Army introduced
me to the regimental system, and I have a strong attachment to all units of
the 10thcavalry.. I ask that you inform the the squadron of our web
site and if possible inform 7th, 8th squadrons and the 2/9 cavalry our brother Buffalo Soldiers.. I am in communication with the Los Angeles chapter of the 9th&10th Horse cavalry association. and I am asking them to consider asking
their chapters to adopt troops of each of the four cavalry squadrons in the 4th ID.
I also ask that you let the chapter know the best way that we can assist the
1`1st squadron now.. I was in contact with the FRG . but I was hospitalized at
the time the squadron returned from the first deployment and lost contact.
I sent two of the T-shirts that I designed to show support for the unit and
for fund raising to LTC Love and a 10th cavalry and 4th ID coffee mugs to
CSM Moffet However I did not receive a response from them. So please let us
know what we can do to help the squadron. Ready and Forward. Grant
